Our Mission

IFRA’s mission vis-à-vis the worldwide fragrance industry is delivered through:

• imposition of a consistent system of Standards for the good manufacture and safe use of fragrances
• preservation of the self-regulatory status of the industry
• advocacy of regulatory principles that preserve the protection of intellectual property for our members
• development and maintenance of open communication and cooperation with national and international government bodies, concerned members of the medical and scientific community, and other stakeholders
• close cooperation with RIFM, the industry's scientific arm, an independent international research institute, to develop and maintain ingredient safety information
• providing the membership with timely and comprehensive information on matters of general relevance to the industry, and
• promotion of the benefits of fragrances and the role they play in enhancing the quality of life.
