Compliance Program
The IFRA Compliance Program focuses on the safety of fragranced consumer products by ensuring that the IFRA Code of Practice is fully applied and adhered to. It involves the analysis of a variety of consumer products for the presence of fragrance ingredients regulated by IFRA Standards.
The Compliance Policy was launched on 1 May 2006. Phase 1 started with the development and validation of an appropriate analytical method followed by the collection and analysis of randomly selected finished product samples by an independent third party laboratory.
Full implementation of the Program of Compliance and respective actions in case of confirmed non-compliance started in May 2007.
Working hand in hand with consumer products manufacturers and fragrance suppliers, IFRA is committed to ensuring that consumer products incorporate only safe fragrances.
