(1)  Version 3.4 (July 2008) of the QRA Information Booklet includes important updated information on:

  • how new IFRA Standards will be set
  • how existing IFRA Standards will be handled
  • what is expected in the 43rd Amendment in terms of number of fragrance ingredients affected and the implementation time
  • what will be considered for inclusion in future IFRA Amendments to the Code of Practice
  • definition of the IFRA product categories
  • changes in product categorization, including:
      • - categorization of product types not previously included (e.g. paper products (such as facial tissues, napkins, toilet paper and paper towels), hair dyes, hair permanent and other hair chemical treatments (e.g. relaxers), scent pack, scent pads, foil packs, reed diffusers and fragranced lamp ring)
        - re-categorization of product types due to new/updated exposure and or surface area data (e.g. baby powder, baby lotion, scratch and sniff)
  • refined notes about aerosol products, scent pads and foil packs, animal sprays and further explanation for compliance of Categories 3 and 11
  • etc.

This booklet is a dynamic document that will change and require periodic updating.
